Pioneered by Essendon legend Michael Long, The Long Walk is a powerful act of unity that brings thousands of Australians together in support of reconciliation and recognition for First Nations people - and Blu Event Productions is proud to help bring this major Melbourne event to life.

In partnership with The Long Walk Foundation and the Essendon Football Club, we deliver full-scale event production for this annual gathering, which features large scale cultural festival followed by a symbolic walk to the Melbourne Cricket Ground. From complex logistics and staging to cultural programming and audience experience, our team works closely with First Nations leaders, creative collaborators, and key stakeholders to ensure the event runs seamlessly and respectfully.

Whether it’s managing large crowd movement, producing live performances, or transforming public spaces into vibrant event precincts - we handle it all with purpose, precision, and pride.

In recognition of our work on The Long Walk, Blu Event Productions was honoured to receive the 2023 Melbourne Award for Aboriginal Melbourne - the city’s highest accolade for contributions to the cultural and social fabric of Aboriginal communities.

Blu Event Productions acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in the area now known as Yarra, and pays respect to their Elders past, present, and emerging, as well as to all First Nations’ communities who significantly contribute to the life of the area.
